About the Role

Looking to take your career to the next level with an exciting startup? As VP, Global Head of Data and Advanced Analytics, you will serve as the expert regarding data science and operationalized data storage across our 3 services of consulting, talent acquisition, and analytics solutions as a service. Our focus includes developing innovative solutions with computer vision, audio NLP, text analytics and IoT data. The leader will hire, train, and inspire a global, growing team. This role is a critical part of the leadership team, will participate in board meetings, and reports into the CEO.

What you’ll be doing


  • Serve as the data and analytics leader for Versalytix in collaboration with leadership.

  • You are an entrepreneur, will help create business, and meet the needs of our customers via consulting, recruiting, and software development.

  • Be a steward of Versalytix’s culture.

  • Set and drive the strategy for business and operational data at Versalytix.

  • Lead future data scientists and development teams to design, implement, and supervise the creation and maintenance of end-to-end analytics products.

  • Work closely with technology partners to create the long term strategy of building capabilities that support our consulting and analytics solutions as a service processes.

  • Pilot and enforce best practices of data science in the team from code version control, model scalability, accuracy, and ethics.

  • Empower your teams to do analytics on our various systems: ensure production excellence by creating and maintaining critical metrics to ensure quality, completeness, accuracy, and appropriate performance of created solutions and internal systems.

  • Be the face of Versalytix from an advanced analytics perspective and actively give back to the data community

  • You are a recruiter, you help us find, hire, and train the best of the best in the analytics space


What you must have


Intrapersonal:


  • Proven experience building and managing high-performing data science, data analytics or related teams

  • A passion for entrepreneurship and start-ups

  • Strong business interest and judgment

  • Incredible attention to detail

  • An ability to work cross-functionally

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex analytics methods to end users

  • Enjoy both people management and technical leadership

  • Comfort with ambiguity: apply structured, analytical thinking to new, undefined problems and guide the team to do the same

  • Passion for learning new technologies and creative analytics use cases and challenging your team to do the same


Technical:


  • Experience delivering business impact through analyses and data products

  • Experience building data pipelines and driving ETL design decisions

  • Experience with large scale database tuning and performance

  • Familiarity with leading agile processes like sprint planning in a Data Science and development context

  • Expert-level skills in SQL, Python/R and statistical methods

  • Experience with statistical techniques such as logistic regression, discriminant analysis, resampling, tree-based methods, and unsupervised learning.

  • Applied ML capabilities at the enterprise level with documented success.

  • Experience scaling analytics workloads to large enterprise levels.


Would be nice to have:


  • Experience with building data organizations from the ground up

  • Data storytelling with visual analysis tools such as Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI or experience with cross-team development

  • Experience with Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks, Tableau, and similar software

  • Experience with Unix and cloud platforms (Google, AWS, Azure)

  • Base salary range: $145k-$195k + Variable compensation including revenue sharing and ownership
